Cirencester Conservatives Working for the Community

Facing The Challenges

The Conservative Agenda for Cirencester

Since Cotswold District Council became a Conservative Council in 2003 it has risen to become one of the most improved District Councils in England - according to official studies.

The official verdict is that Cotswold District Council is a Good Council.

That is a remarkable achievement.

At the same time, Cotswold District Council tax increases, at or below inflation under the Tories, have consistently been at the lowest levels ever.

That is also quite remarkable.

It is our prime objective to continue to provide excellent service without asking local residents to fork out more and more of their hard earned wages or pensions.

We will build on our record for recycling, already the best in Gloucestershire and the country.

We will make sure that at least 50% of the new houses to be built at Kingshill are affordable homes and, in many cases, preference will be given to local people.

We will work to make sure that better community facilities for the Beeches are delivered.

We will make progress with the Conservative Vision for Cirencester which will deliver new shops and facilities into the town centre and none of it at your expense.

We will continue to support funding for the additional Police Officers patrolling in Cirencester.

We will continue the fight against unfair government funding of education and health in Cirencester and the Cotswolds.

We will continue with our drive for greater efficiency and cost savings at CDC.

And we promise every year to increase Council Tax by no more than the increase in state pensions.

With your support we can do all this and more.
