Corn Hall gets a
Multi-million pound makeover

Cotswold District Council has agreed the sale of the Historic Corn Hall to Wildmoor Properties in a deal that secures its future use by the community.

A detailed contract between the Council and the developer ensures that antique and craft markets will continue at the venue for at least 35 years and that evening entertainment and local community use will continue indefinitely.

Wildmoor Properties, which also owns the adjoining Kings Head Hotel, will restore historic links between the two buildings to create a first-class hotel for the town with an eagerly anticipated signature restaurant.

The beautifully refurbished hall reopened its doors on 25th November 2008 with the return of the Antiques and Craft Markets and there will be a new Food and Drinks Market on Thursdays.

CDC Councillor John Burgess has been associated with the Corn Hall for many years promoting dances and the famous roller skating nights. John was a member of the project board which negotiated the deal with the developers. He said - Wildmoor have done a fantastic job. Just look at the spectacular Victorian Hammer Beam ceiling which has been completely refurbished, and the arcade of retail units is a delight. This is turning out to be an even greater success than we anticipated and I really Iook forward to the completion of the hotel and restaurant.
