New Brewery Arts officially opened by Prince Charles

Helped by a half million pound grant from CDC and with significant lottery funding, New Brewery Arts has been refurbished and re-developed into one of the leading arts and crafts centres in the country.

On 13th December 2008, New Brewery Arts was officially opened by HRH Prince Charles who toured the building to see many of the 18 resident makers at work.

New Brewery Arts is a hub of visual and performing arts and crafts, inspiring learning and culture for the enrichment of all, regardless of age, ability or privilege. A centre for excellence with a central location makes it a must for any visitor to Cirencester.

The CDC half million pound grant was taken through for approval by the Portfolio Holder for Arts and Culture, John Burgess, who said of this venture at the time that it would be the perfect vehicle to deliver the Councils published Cultural Strategy.

How right that has proved to be!

Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen has
officially opened the new-look
Cirencester Library.

Following a million pound refurbishment Cirencester Library was officially opened by Laurence and his wife Jackie on November 14th.

The new facility now offers a modern and high-tech environment as well as the traditional book resource. Particularly inspiring is the new children's zone situated beneath the cleverly arched ceiling.

Local Councillors of all parties attended the opening to hear speeches from prominent Conservative Councillors Mavis Dunrossil and our own Geoffrey Adams.

The project was made possible by co-operation between the Library Trustees and Conservative Gloucestershire County Council who funded the refurbishment.
